One of the best outcomes from this 30 Day Challenge is that I have been learning so much about different topics. For example, it’s Arbor Day! Did you know that Arbor Day first became a holiday in Nebraska in 1872?
It seems a bit strange to celebrate trees, but they are very important for our ecosystem. Believe it or not, there are health benefits to being around trees! It can reduce stress levels, lower blood pressure and boost a person’s mood. So, go hug a tree after work each day. Not to sound anymore nerdy, but there are a lot of cool facts about trees, like the fact that trees help reduce crime. According to EcoWatch, “Chicago public housing residents with nearby trees and natural landscapes reported 25 percent fewer acts of domestic aggression and violence.” Today, I encourage you all to go outside and enjoy nature and the great weather (until it rains at 5pm). Go hug a tree or two. It’s good for you. Love, Miz Mak
